Six Dead, as Doon Express derails in Uttar Pradesh

TNI Bureau: At least six people died and around 50 others injured, when the Doon Express derained near Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh. The death toll could go up further. At lease five coaches of the train derailed.

This is the second train accident in the last 10 days. Earlier, 25 people died in a collission in Andhra Pradesh. Today’s accident occurred between Khetra Sarai and Mehrawan at Mani Halt.

At least seven coaches (five Sleeper and two General) were derailed. The Doon Express 13009 was plying between Dehradun and Howrah. A medical team has been rushed to the spot. The rescue operation is going on. Relief trains also reached the spot.
