There was a huge disappointment for the family of Delhi gangrape victim, ‘Nirbhaya’ and women activists across the country, as the minor accused was found guilty, but sentenced to just three years in reform home.

The Juvenile Justice Board has pronounced the verdict. since the accused has already spent 8 months in jail, he will just need to spend another 28 months in a reform home despite the fact that he committed brutality on the rape victim along with other accused.

The gangrape, which occurred in South Delhi on December 16, 2012, had shocked the entire nation and triggered a global outrage. The victim suffered fatal injuries and succumbed on December 29 in a private hospital in Singapore.

Six people were arrested in connection with the case. One of the accused, Ram Singh had committed suicide inside Tihar Jail, while four others are awaiting the fial verdict.
