Despite completing the application process, including online submission and receipt generation, many journalists are yet to receive the promised health insurance benefits. According to reports, over 1,000 working journalists across the state have been affected by the delay.

Several journalists and their families, facing serious health issues, have reportedly been forced to bear heavy medical expenses, take loans, or even sell property due to the absence of insurance coverage. The delay, now extending more than six months beyond the expected timeline, has caused deep concern and frustration.

Journalist associations have contacted departmental officials, but no clear timeline has been provided, with authorities citing that the files are pending at higher levels.

The continuing inaction has led to growing resentment among journalists, and sources indicate that media bodies are preparing to protest against the government’s delay and perceived indifference.
