TNI Bureau: During a grand parade of the Central Reserve Police Force in Guwahati, IG Amitendra Nath Sinha, currently posted in Odisha, was honoured with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service. He received this prestigious award in recognition of his long, dedicated, and exceptional service to the security forces.
The President’s Medal is awarded to police and paramilitary officers for outstanding service, leadership, and significant contributions to national security. It is announced by the President of India on the occasions of Republic Day or Independence Day. During the CRPF parade in Guwahati, the decorated officers were formally felicitated in the presence of senior officials, personnel, and invited guests. The parade showcased the discipline, bravery, and professional excellence of the force.
This honour marks a major milestone in Amitendra Nath Sinha’s career and is also a matter of pride for the entire force. Odisha-cadre IPS officer Amitendra Nath Sinha is currently serving as IG in CRPF and is posted in Odisha. He is known for his integrity and professionalism. Originally, he belongs to Bangra village in Siwan district of Bihar. Bangra is often referred to as a village of freedom fighters. He is a descendant of late freedom fighter Ram Lakhan Singh.
His father, Dr Yatindra Nath Sinha, is a renowned homeopathic doctor and former National Vice President of the Homeopathic Medical Association of India, while his mother, Bachchi Devi, is a retired teacher.
