Congress Holds Candle March for SCB Fire Victims, Demands Justice

TNI Bureau: The Odisha Congress organized a peaceful candlelight march to express solidarity with the victims of the tragic fire incident at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. The march in Bhubaneswar, was led by PCC President Bhakta Charan Das, along with party leaders, workers, and supporters.

Holding candles and placards, participants paid tribute to those who lost their lives and extended support to the affected families. The atmosphere remained solemn, with leaders emphasizing accountability and justice for the victims.

Addressing the gathering, Bhakta Charan Das said the march was not merely an expression of grief but a strong demand for a transparent and impartial investigation into the incident. He stressed that negligence in healthcare institutions cannot be tolerated and those responsible must face strict action. He also demanded immediate resignation of Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling.

“Participated in the peaceful candle march organized by the State Congress, demanding justice for the victims of the tragic fire incident at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack. This is not just an expression of grief, but a firm call for a transparent investigation and strict action against those responsible. Negligence in healthcare is unacceptable. We stand in solidarity with the affected families and will continue to seek justice,” he said.

The Congress leadership reiterated its commitment to pursuing the matter and ensuring that such incidents are not repeated, calling for improved safety measures in hospitals across the state.
