Cold Wave Intensifies in Odisha; Similipal Records −1°C

TNI Bureau: Odisha continued to experience severe cold conditions, with temperatures dipping sharply across several parts of the state under an intense cold wave.

The forest region of Similipal in Mayurbhanj district recorded sub-zero temperatures, making it the coldest area in Odisha. Upper Baraha Kamuda registered a minimum temperature of minus 1 degree Celsius, while several other locations within the Similipal forest also reported extremely low night temperatures, highlighting the severity of the cold in the forest belt.

Meanwhile, Jharsuguda witnessed its coldest night in over seven decades, reflecting the widespread impact of the cold wave across western and northern Odisha.
