TNI Bureau: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the Silver Jubilee (25th) edition of Enterprise Odisha 2026 in Rourkela, declaring that Western Odisha has emerged as a core engine of the State’s industrial growth.
During the event, industrial projects worth ₹8,884 crore were inaugurated and grounded, creating 6,832 jobs. A total of 22 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and five investment proposals were also signed, attracting investments worth ₹52,026 crore with employment potential for 20,427 people.
Speaking at the inaugural session, the Chief Minister said the State aims to be “the best and compete with the best,” with a strong focus on MSMEs to generate employment close to home. He added that Odisha’s industrial strategy is centered on developing anchor industries in each region, supported by hundreds of MSMEs as suppliers and service providers.
The event saw the inauguration of 11 projects worth ₹5,708 crore, generating 4,183 jobs, and the grounding of nine projects worth ₹3,176 crore, creating 2,649 jobs.
CM Majhi also participated in roundtable discussions with the Rourkela Chamber of Commerce, the Orissa Sponge Iron Manufacturing Association (OSIMA), and delegations from Ranchi and Raipur, highlighting the growing Raipur–Ranchi–Rourkela (RRR) Corridor. Through these interactions, 22 MoUs worth ₹43,349 crore and five investment intents worth ₹8,677 crore were secured.
Additionally, the Chief Minister handed over the land allotment letter for 1,447.927 acres at Kamakhyanagar in Dhenkanal to Vedanta Aluminium Ltd. for its proposed 3 MTPA aluminium smelter and 4,900 MW captive power plant project.
Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain said the government is focused on converting investment commitments into grounded projects and aligning workforce skills with industry demand to ensure employment-led growth.
The 25th edition of Enterprise Odisha marks a major step towards accelerating industrial development in Western Odisha and strengthening the State’s position as a leading investment destination.
