TNI Bureau: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi felicitated Indian Idol Season 16 winner Jyotirmayee Nayak at his official residence in Bhubaneswar and announced a cash reward of ₹5 lakh in recognition of her achievement.

During the meeting, Jyotirmayee presented her Indian Idol trophy to the Chief Minister and shared her journey, highlighting the hard work, dedication and perseverance behind her success in the national singing competition.

Congratulating her on the achievement, Majhi said Jyotirmayee has brought pride to Odisha by emerging as a national-level winner through her exceptional talent and relentless efforts, with the blessings of Lord Jagannath. He described her as an inspiration for the younger generation of singers and aspiring artists.

The Chief Minister also praised Jyotirmayee for using her musical talent beyond the stage. He noted that she has been contributing to patient care by providing music therapy at several cancer hospitals in Odisha, helping ease the suffering of patients.

Calling her a “youth icon” for the state and the country, Majhi said her unique blend of talent and service reflects the values needed to build a prosperous Odisha and a developed India. He added that the use of music in healthcare could inspire a new trend in patient support and well-being.

The Chief Minister thanked the people of Odisha for their overwhelming support to Jyotirmayee throughout her Indian Ido journey. He said her victory has become a memorable moment for the state and has further highlighted Odisha’s artistic talent at the national level.

Jyotirmayee’s parents, Chakradhar Nayak and Gauri Nayak, were also present on the occasion.
