Chennai stunned, Pune register 2nd Win in IPL 6

After two successive victories after an initial loss, the Chennai Super Kings were stunned at their home ground last night, as they lost to Pune Warriors India by 24 runs. Neither Dhoni nor Jadeja could come to the rescue of Chennai this time, as Pune registered their second win in IPL 6.

Pune won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 159/5 in 20 overs. Aaron Finch made 67, followed by Uthappa (26). Steven Smith scored an unbeaten 39 off 16 balls to give respectability to the Pune’s total. For Chennai, Chris Morris and Dwayne Bravo took two wickets each.

Chasing a victory target of 160, Chennai Super Kings lost wickets at regular intervals and finally finished at 135/8 in 20 overs and lost the match. Murali Vijay (24), Badrinath (34) and Jadeja (27) were the top scorers. For Pune, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Dinda and Mitchell Marsh took two wickets each. Steven Smith was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
