Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that Uttar Pradesh will be the first State in the country to have 18 ‘safe cities’ in three months.
The water level of the Yamuna reached 207.54 meters on Wednesday, more than two metres above the danger mark, breaking a record set in 1978, according to figures by the Central Water Commission (CWC).
This week, several north Indian states have been clobbered by unusually heavy rainfall, flash floods and devastation, destroying homes and infrastructure and claiming over 50 lives so far.
