Recently a horrifying incident took place in Bhagalpur District, Bihar. A case has been registered in Mojahidpur Police station by a woman seriously injured and assaulted by her husband. She made a complaint stating that her husband lost her in Gambling and decided to give her away to the winner.
All the men involved in Gambling molested her but somehow she ran away that day. Later, when she returned to her husband, out of anger he threw acid on her face and private parts. He kept her locked for days in his house.
Though these many details are enough to wrench anyone’s heart, more horrible details await you in this case. The victim woman had to go through this cruelty for more than a month.
According to the current details in the case, the victim married 10 years ago. Unfortunately, she was not able to conceive a baby which was the reason her husband started torturing her. She used to get beatings and punishments from her husband for something which was not even her fault and was natural. This was going on for a long time but this time the atrocities and sufferings crossed all the limits.

These kinds of cases are an absolute blot on humanity. These days when we are talking about the development of women and women empowerment, it’s a shame for our society to see these kinds of sufferings on women. This case highlights various social problems prevailing in our society that need serious attention from the government as well as people.
This is not the first Acid Attack on women and it won’t be the last if we don’t take an action and stand against these culprits. Women suffering is very common in Indian Society for years now.
Unfortunately, this is not the only case when men gambled on their women. Gambling on women once happened at the time of Mahabharata which later became the reason for millions of deaths and complete destruction and now in the 21st century, if we don’t stand against such horror then it will destroy many lives again.
It’s our responsibility as a society to not let such horrifying history repeat itself. This is the time to speak up for humanity against such disastrous events and this is the moment for our government to take some strict action against such an event.
