Australia Women reach Women’s World Cup Final

TNI Bureau: With three straight victories in the Super Six, Australia Women became the first team to reach the final of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2013. They crushed Sri Lanka by 9 wickets today. This will be Australia’s 7th World Cup final.

Earlier, Sri Lanka managed to score just 131 in 45.2 overs. Rasangika made 43. Osborne took three wickets. Schutt and Sthalekar took two wickets each.

Chasing a victory target of 132, Australian batswomen reached the target in 22.2 overs. Haynes remained unbeaten on 71, while Lanning scored 37. Now, New Zealand, England and West Indies will vie for the other finalist’s spot.
