Amit Shah to Visit Odisha on March 5–6

TNI Bureau: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Odisha on a two-day tour on March 5 and March 6, during which he is expected to participate in several official programmes related to security and institutional development.

According to the tentative schedule, Shah is likely to arrive in Bhubaneswar on the evening of March 5.

Preparations are underway by the state administration, with senior officials reviewing arrangements for security, traffic management and programme coordination.

On March 6, the Home Minister is expected to attend a major function of a central security force at Mundali near Cuttack, where he will interact with officers and personnel. The visit is expected to include discussions on internal security and coordination between central forces and the state police.

Shah is also likely to take part in programmes related to forensic and policing infrastructure, including foundation-laying and inauguration events connected with national-level forensic institutions in Odisha.

Programmes highlighting the implementation of new criminal laws and policing reforms are also expected to be part of the visit.

The upcoming visit is considered significant from both administrative and political perspectives, as it reflects the Centre’s continued focus on strengthening security infrastructure and law-enforcement capabilities in Odisha. Officials have begun detailed preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of the Home Minister’s two-day tour.
