3 Ministers given Additional Portfolios after Raghunath quits

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik assigned additional portfolios held by Raghunath Mohanty to three ministers hours after Mohanty resigned from his posts following dowry torture allegations levelled against him by his daughter-in-law Barsha Soni Choudhury.

The Basta MLA Raghunath Mohanty was holding the portfolios of Law, Housing and Urban Development and Information & Technology.

While Agriculture Minister Devi Mishra was given additional charge of Housing and Urban Development, Tourism Minister Maheswar Mohanty got Law department. Similarly, Food and Civil Supply minister Pratap Keshari Dev was assigned Information and Technology department as an additional charge on Friday.

Raghu Mohanty, the five-time MLA from Basta, landed in trouble after a dowry case was lodged against him and his family members at Balasore Town police station on March 15 night.

Since, the budget session is on, he was reportedly asked by the CM to resign from the council of minister on Friday.
