As expected, the Indian women, who failed to make any impact in the 2013 Women’s World Cup, were snubbed by the ICC while choosing the ICC Women’s World Cup Team of the tournament. M Kamini and Mithali Raj hit one century each in the tournament. But, lack of consistency marred their chances.
Suzie Bates of New Zealand, who scored 406 runs in the tournament, including a hundred, was named the skipper. She was the lone player from New Zealand Team. In the team of 12, Australia and England are represented by four players each. Two players from West Indies and one from Sri Lanka too made the cut.
