Dandapani Mohanty’s Son Arrested in Odisha
TNI Bureau: In a big development, the Odisha police have arrested Sangram Mohanty, son of Maoist negotiator Dandapani Mohanty in Gajapati district for allegedly helping the naxals.
Sangram was arrested along with Kailash Mandal, who allegedly worked as a courier to the Maoists. They were picked up at Kamalapadar Chowk in Mohana block of Gajapati district. Two pistols, ammunition, cash and other materials were recovered from Sangram. The police claimed that they were meant for the Maoists.
Dandapani Mohanty, who worked as a negotiator during the abduction of former Malkangiri Collector Vineel Krishna and Italian tourists, has slammed the arrest of his son and claimed that Sangram was picked up from Berhampur and the police is trying to frame him in order to harass him (Dandapani).
