TNI Bureau: India began their Champions Trophy campaign in style, as they thrashed England 3-1 in a thrilling encounter in Melbourne today. India came back from a deficit to score this most important victory.

Earlier, Richard Smith scored the first goal of the match in the 15th minute through a penalty corner. However, Danish Mujtaba scored the equaliser in the 22nd minute. At half time, both teams were tied at 1-1.

India went aggressive in the second half and did not allow England to come back in this match. Yuvraj Walmiki scored the second goal for the team in the 38th minute. Sardar Singh scored the final goal from a penalty corner in the 66th minute. India will take on New Zealand tomorrow.
