Land Registration resumes in Bhubaneswar

Land Registration resumes in Bhubaneswar

Date:

Bhubaneswar: In a big relief to the real estate developers and land buyers, the notaries, stamp vendors and lawyers have ended their three-month-long strike and decided to resume work from today. The land registration process will become fully functional now.

The notaries, stamp vendors and the counsels had gone on a strike on September 1 in protest against the hike in land valuation in the capital. The strike affected the land registration process at sub-registrar offices in Bhubaneswar and Khandagiri.

The state government lost around Rs 50 crore per month due to the strike. It’s an irony that the agitation lasted so long and the government failed to resolve the issue earlier, resulting in huge inconvenience to the common people as well as the builders. The purchase and sale of land had come to a complete halt in Bhubaneswar area for the last two and half months.
