Keeping in view the Cyclone Hudhud, the Higher Education Department of Odisha, has cancelled the classes at the Berhampur University and colleges of nine districts of South Odisha on Monday, October 13. However, the lecturers, professors and all employees will be present at the colleges without any fail.

All government and private colleges in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Boudh, Kandhamal and Kalahandi districts apart from the Berhampur University, have been intimated about this decision.

The Higher Education Department has also asked the administration to use the college premises as shelter homes for cyclone affected if needed. The College Principals have been authorised to use cadres of NSS, NCC, Youth Red Cross, Bharat Scout and Guider & Rover Ranger Groups during the cyclone and any flood situation aftermath.
