“The Thirsty Crow” chosen for Woodpecker Film Festival

The 40-year-old Documentary Filmmaker, Snehasis Das, has achieved yet another milestone in his illustrious career, as his film, “The Thirsty Crow” has been chosen for the Woodpecker Film Festival along with another one – “Duhita: My Daughter” by Nandita Anand from Bhubaneswar.

Thirsty-CrowAround 45 films across the country, have been chosen for the Woodpecker Film Festival 2013 from the list of 100+ nominations. It’ a proud moment for Odisha, as two of them have the Odia touch.

“The Thirsty Crow” reminds us of the age-old story of a crow using pellets to fetch drinking water from a pot, which still holds significance in today’s generation at a time when the water scarcity has gripped many parts of the country. The film seeks to send a message on water conservation.

On the other hand, “Duhita: My Daughter” is a short fiction student film, which talks about a rape survivor and her family life and trauma aftermath the tragedy. The film festival will be held on December 19-21 in New Delhi.
