BSE Sensex crosses 21,000 Mark after 3 Years
The BSE Sensex took a big leap forward by crossing the psychological barrier of 21,000 on October 24, 2013, which happened after a long gap of three years. The last time Sensex had touched 21,000 mark was in November 2010. It now eyes the all-time high level of 21,206.77 hit on January 10, 2008.
The winners in today’s surge, include Sun Pharma, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, TCS and Tata Motors. On the other hand, BHEL, JSPL, SBI, Hindalco and Tata Steel dropped significant points.
The Sensex surged by 262 points in the initial trading to cross 21,000 mark, but later some points to trade at 20,952 at around 11:30 AM. The market sentiment has witnessed a boost, thanks to the heavy buying by foreign funds in blue-chips led by realty, banking and oil and gas sectors stocks available at attractive lower levels.
