Maruti Suzuki Sales increase by 12% in September

Although the car market is not showing great results this year due to economic meltdown and lack of confidence in the industry, Maruti Suzuki got a big boost ahead of the festive season by increasing its sales for the third consecutive month in September.

Maruti-Suzuki-Alto-800-The Onam festival took place in September this year, while Dussehra will be held in October and Diwali festival is coming up in November. Maruti expects to increase its sales further during the festive season. Recently, Maruti had announced a hike in car prices by up to Rs 10,000 from the first week of October.

Maruti Suzuki sold 104,964 vehicles in September, a 12% increase from a year earlier. Local sales increased 1.8% to 90,399 units. Exports of Maruti Suzuki vehicles rose to 14,565 units in September, from 5,187 units one year ago.
