Hours after they brought glory to the country by winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2013, the BCCI has announced a cash reward of Rs one crore each for all members of the victorious Indian Team. The support staff will also get Rs 30 lakh each.
India had beaten England by 5 runs in the rain-curtailed final at Edgbaston last night to win the ICC Champions Trophy. For India, Shikhar Dhawan received the Golden Bat with a total of 363 runs from five matches. Ravindra Jadeja was declared the ‘Man of The Match’ and received the Golden Ball too for taking 12 wickets in the tournament.
This is the second time India won this tournament. Earlier in 2002, they had to share the trophy with Sri Lanka after rains washed out the final.
