TNI Bureau: India received a big blow to its medal prospects, as ace Shooter Abhinav Bindra crashed out of the medal race in 10m Air Rifle event. He failed to qualify for the finals. Bindra finished 16th in the qualifiers.

There is still a ray of hope for India in this event, as Gagan Narang has qualified for the finals with a score of 598 out of 600. He finished third in the qualifiers.

Abhinav Bindra is the lone individual gold medalist for India at the Olympics. He had won the gold medal in the same event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Bindra could score just 594 in the qualifiers.
