GCEK Alumna Pritisha Banerjee Contributes to Skyroot Aerospace’s Historic Vikram-1 Mission

TNI Bureau: Government College of Engineering, Kalahandi, Bhawanipatna, has added another feather to its cap as one of its distinguished alumnae, Pritisha Banerjee, is playing a key role in India’s rapidly growing private space sector. Currently serving as an Avionics Software Reliability Engineer at Skyroot Aerospace, Pritisha is part of the prestigious Vikram-1, the company’s first orbital launch mission.

In her role at Skyroot Aerospace, one of India’s leading private space technology companies, Pritisha contributes to ensuring the reliability and quality of the avionics software used in the launch vehicle. Her responsibilities include software verification, validation, and reliability activities for mission-critical avionics systems, ensuring that the software meets stringent quality and safety standards required for a successful space mission.

Originally from Titlagarh, Odisha, Pritisha completed her engineering from Government College of Engineering, Kalahandi. She attributes her success to the guidance of her teachers and mentors at GCEK, along with the unwavering support of her family, who encouraged her to pursue a career in the space industry.

Sharing her excitement, Pritisha said, “Working on a rocket has always been my dream. Today, being part of the Skyroot Vikram-1 mission is a dream come true. I hope my journey inspires students, especially those from small towns, to dream big, work hard, and believe that with dedication, no goal is beyond reach.”

Her remarkable achievement has brought pride to both GCEK and the state of Odisha. It stands as an inspiration for aspiring engineers, demonstrating that determination, perseverance, and quality education can empower students from small towns to contribute to India’s technological and scientific progress on the global stage.
