TNI Bureau: Retired Odisha cadre IAS officer VK Pandian recently visited Venezuela aftermath massive earthquakes, to assess the progress of rescue and recovery process. He also shared his experience in handling such disasters.
During the visit, Pandian directly went to the earthquake affected areas to interact with the survivors and emergency team working on the ground to understand what they need and what can be done to protect them. He praised the rescue team’s effort and dedication in providing relief in such difficult situation.
A major highlight of his visit as the Disaster Management Expert, was meeting with the Venezuelan president Delcy Rodriguez to share Odisha’s expertise in handling such natural devastating disasters. VK Pandian shared practical strategies and tips on how to recover and rebuild the community again after the big calamity. He explained how Odisha effectively manages natural calamities almost every year and help people get back on their feet faster.
Not only disaster management, the two leaders also had a discussion about their shared connection and belief in Sathya Sai Baba. Both side felt that this spiritual connection helps to build a stronger bond of friendship and trust between people of India and Venezuela.
