CM Mohan Majhi Mourns Death of Odia Jawan in J&K

TNI Bureau: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep grief over the untimely death of Indian Army jawan Jitu Behera, a native of Anandapalli village in Nayagarh district, who was serving in Jammu and Kashmir.

Jitu Behera, who was posted in the Kashmir valley, died after suffering a cardiac arrest while on duty. He was serving with the Indian Army when he suddenly collapsed during duty hours. The news of his death reached his family after they lost contact with him, causing concern among his relatives. His mortal remains were later brought to his native village, where family members, villagers and local officials gathered to pay their last respects and perform the final rites.

Calling it an irreparable loss to the state and the nation, the Chief Minister said Behera’s dedication, selfless service and unwavering patriotism would remain a source of inspiration for the youth. He also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Nayagarh Collector Madhumita Rath expressed deep condolences on behalf of the district administration and assured full support to the bereaved family. “We are deeply saddened by the martyrdom of Jitu Behera. The government will extend all necessary assistance to the family,” she said.
