The Royal Challengers Bangalore led by Virat Kohli produced superb display of T20 cricket, as they scored an emphatic 24-run victory over Chennai Super Kings in a match that was curtailed by heavy rains.
The match was reduced to 8-overs a side following rains and wet outfield. Bangalore posted 106/2 in 8 overs. Kohli remained unbeaten on 56 off 29 balls. Gayle scored 28 off 13 balls.
Chennai could manage to score just 82/6 in 8 overs and lost by 24 runs. Vijay scored 32, while Dhoni made 24. Zaheer Khan took 4 wickets. Virat Kohli was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
With this win, Royal Challengers Bangalore finished at 18 points from 16 matches. If Hyderabad beat Kolkata today, they will move to the play-off with 20 points. Or else, Bangalore will qualify. Chennai, Mumbai and Rajasthan have already qualified for the play-offs.
