Mumbai lose to Hyderabad, Delhi beat Kolkata

The Mumbai Indians suffered a shock defeat in the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad, as Sachin Tendulkar failed to score yet again. In the other match, the Delhi Daredevils scored an emphatic victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders.

In the first match, Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored just 129/4 in 20 overs. Dwayne Smith scored 38, while Rohit Sharma made 22. Ambati Rayudu remained unbeaten on 34. For Hyderabad, Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra took two wickets each.

Shikhar Dhawan took the charge in Hyderabad’s run chase. He remained unbeaten on 73, as his team reached 130/3 in 18 overs. Sangakkara (21) and Hanuma Vihari (25) were the other contributors. Ishant Sharma was declared ‘Man of the Match’.

In the second match, Kolkata won the toss and elected to bat first on the new wicket in Raipur. They managed to score just 136/7 in 20 overs. Yusuf Pathan (20), Rajat Bhatia (26*) and Sumit Narwal (23) were the top scorers. Umesh Yadav took two wickets.

Chasing a victory target of 137, Delhi lost Jayawardene and Sehwag early. But, David Warner scored an unbeaten 66 with the help of Unmukt Chand (37) to see his team through. They reached 137/3 in 17.5 overs. Warner was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
