Earlier, Chennai won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted 164/3 in 50 overs, thanks to Raina (63*), Badrinath (34) and Dhoni (45* off 16 balls). In reply, Pune Warriors India finished at 127/7 in 20 overs and lost the match by 37 runs.
Steven Smith scored 35, while Kane Richardson (26) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (24*) were the other contributors. Mohit Sharma took three wickets. Dhoni was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
