The land of Lord Jagannath, Puri has been put into shame because of some vendors, who assaulted the tourists when they refused to buy from them. The assault took place at the Puri Sea Beach while the police remained a mute spectator. Around 10 vendors were involved in the attack.

The victim Anil Rathore and his family members were left bleeding following the incident. The argument started over the price of a shell necklace, which turned ugly when the vendor called his friends, who in turn kicked and punched Rathore, a businessman from Akola district of Maharashtra. Along with the vendors, some local photographers too joined the assault on the tourists, raising serious questions on the law and order situation at Puri Sea Beach.

In a similar incident a few days ago, some vendors assaulted a woman in Puri while selling their product. The vendors in Puri who are hands-in-glove with the cops and other authorities have become impatient and intolerant and unleash terror among the tourists, which need to be stopped with immediate effect.
