Baripada: In a bid to regulate diversion of foreign funds by the NGOs along with other related rule violation, 7 NGOs of tribal Mayurbhanj district were put up on Rejected list of Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).

The NGOs, which were cancelled, include Antyodaya Chetana Mandal of Rasgobindpur, Centre for Communication & Development Studies, Kuliana, Jatiya Chetana Vikas, Rural Education Committee, Rural Research Development Council, Rural Research Development Organisation, Karanjia, Village Development Society.

These NGOs have reportedly violated the basic rules administering FCRA & hence their registration number has been cancelled with effect from 31 st July 2012, said the press release made by Home ministry. Further, the Ministry put up a list of total 160 NGOs from all over Odisha in the Rejected FCRA permission category. Around 4139 NGOs across India were cancelled for same violation.
