TNI Bureau: At least 47 police personnel in Odisha died of Covid-19 this year, informed Odisha DGP Abhay. Over 900 cops have donated their plasma so far.

While listing the achievements of Odisha Police in 2020, the DGP said the Cops handled the Covid-19 situation well with all their hard work and dedication.

The Odisha Police also did a good job in fighting the Maoists. While 17 Maoists were eliminated this year, 21 have surrendered before the police. The Odisha Police also made their presence felt in cut-off Swabhiman Anchal in Chitrakonda block of Malkangiri district.

The Odisha Police also seized huge cache of narcotics including ganja and brown sugar, he added. DGP Abhay also claimed that there has a been a drop in crime and criminal activities in the state in 2020.
