Bhubaneswar, 25th November, 2013: In order to ensure “Electricity to all” the state Government has launched a flagship scheme called Biju Gram Jyoti in the mid of 2007-08 for electrification of habitations having less than 100 population and the BPL household electrification in those habitations which are not covered under Rajiv Gandhi Gram Vidyut Yojana.

There was a target to cover 10,000 habitations during the 11th five year plan under the scheme against which 12,244 habitations and 147649 BPL houses have been electrified till October-2013.
