TNI Bureau: Indian politics has produced many miracles, but perhaps none quite like the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI). Without contesting a single seat, or seeking a single vote, the “little known, unrecognised” outfit has found itself blessed with 20 Lok Sabha MPs, courtesy of rebel Trinamool Congress Parliamentarians and BJP Strategists.
In a democracy where parties usually earn seats through elections, NCPI appears to have discovered a faster route – political transplantation.
If elections are the festival of democracy, NCPI has managed to skip the festivities and walk straight into the banquet, instantly emerging as a force without facing the electorate.
