TNI Bureau: Yuvraj Singh has proved that he has lost nothing after a long absence from Cricket following he was diagnosed with cancer. Now he is back to his team and showed his charisma in the second T20 against New Zealand in Chennai on Tuesday.
His fans and Cricket critics were amazed to see his spirit and energy when he was playing at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday. The ground was filled with cheers for the cricketer, who was selected to play the tournament after winning a battle with cancer.
All the speculation over his fitness and ability to perform was dismissed when did a wonderful job against New Zealand. He bowled two overs, scored 34 off 26 balls, hit two sixes and took a catch yesterday.
India lost to New Zealand by one run, but Yuvraj was shining in the match with his best performance. India finished at 166/4 in 20 overs. “From tomorrow, he can do whatever he wants to. It’s just about giving that individual a bit of space so that he can think about what he needs to do. Especially given that he is playing after 10 months, you will put pressure on him because he doesn’t know where he stands. Now that he has done well, he can do whatever he wants,” captain MS Dhoni said after defeat.
Apart from batting, Yuvraj has also maintained his balance by contributing with his spin bowling, he said. “It was a big game for him. All the eyes were on him. It was good to see him on the field. I personally feel that he gives us the right kind of balance we need.
