Google’s popular video watching and sharing site YouTube is now running with one billion viewers per month – YouTube wrote in a post on its official blog. The post also mentioned that if YouTube were a country, it would have been the third largest in the world after China and India. YouTube claims that one in every two internet users is a regular visitor to the site.
However Google had taken the right decision. We can confirm it from this outcome.
In 2012 it was estimated that YouTube generated around $1.3bn only from video advertising. Besides that it also earned huge amount of money from its search and banner advertising on the site.
Few years back it was being thought that TV (telecast) viewing in handy gadgets will be the craze in the coming years. But technology took a ‘U’ turn and internet took up the chance, where Facebook and YouTube became two biggest achievers.
Facebook was started in 2005 and now it has more than billion users around the world. Yet, YouTube initiated its work just one year after, in 2006 and went on a neck to neck competition with Facebook.
However, YouTube celebrated the world’s first billion-view video in December 2012 with the South Korean singer’s dance craze video, which has earned more than 1.5bn views so far.
