Youth escapes Unhurt after being Run Over by Train

Bhubaneswar, Oct 3: In a surprising incident, a youth from Jeypore in Koraput district recovered unhurt after a passenger train run over him here on Thursday morning, said Government Railway Police (GRP) sources.

At around 10.10 am, Srinivas Patnaik (30) of Nuasahi in Jeypore staying at Sailashree Vihar under Chandrasekharpur police limits here jumped before Puri-Cuttack passenger bound train at platform-1 of Bhubaneswar Railway station.

Following the incident the loco pilot stopped the train after Srinivas was run over by four of its compartment including the engine, informed Inspector-in-charge of the GRP Saubhagya Swain adding he was rescued unhurt from the track after the train was moved back. he was recovered from between the railway track, added Swain.

He might have attempted suicide, but his brother who was working in Secretariat here said he was mentally sick and has done this incident, the inspector added. No case has been registered following the incident. Later Srinivas was handed over to his brother, he said.
