TNI Bureau: After the demise of Shiv Sena patriarch Bal Thackeray, his son Uddhav Thackeray is likely to patch up with cousin brother MNS chief Raj ahead of the 2014 elections. Both the brothers were seen emotional during the funeral ceremony of Bal Saheb.
He said that if Raj wants an alliance with the Shiv Sena, he will be most welcome. “I welcome everyone who is genuinely willing to join hands with us,” Uddhav said in response to a question on whether he would be with his cousin.
He hinted at the possibility of the coming together with Raj to get Marathi vote.
Raj had split from Sena in 2006 after his uncle Bal Thackeray made it clear that his son Uddhav who would be his successor. Raj formed his own party, the Maharashtra Narvnirman Sena, which is based on an agenda similar to Sena, to garner the Marathi votes.
