TNI Bureau: Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, who was hanged and buried in Tihar Jail on Feb 9, his wife Tabassum demanded his body saying his family has full right over the remains after his death.
His wife wrote a letter to the Home Ministry demanding the body to be handed over to her for proper burial as per Islam in his home land Jammu and Kashmir.
However, the Home Ministry is likely to reject the plea, citing the law and order situation may worsen in the Kashmir valley.
Afzal was buried inside Tihar soon after his hanging last week. The secret operation of Guru could remind us about the hanging of Kashmiri separatist leader Maqbool Bhat, who was also buried in the jail complex following his execution in 1984. The body was not handed over to his family.
