Voting for the #100Women Achievers’ Contest of WCD Ministry begins

Voting for the #100Women Achievers’ Contest of the Ministry of Women and Child Development has begun from today. Voting will continue till 20th December, 2015. The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), in collaboration with Facebook, had announced the #100Women initiative that seeks to recognize and acknowledge women who are making a difference in their communities, across the country. Through this initiative, the Ministry is acknowledging and recognizing the women who have contributed to the community and nation building, and their achievements may have gone unsung.

The Ministry has received an encouraging response from the public, with nominations flowing in for all the 20 categories. A panel of esteemed jury has shortlisted the top 200 women nominees from all the nominations across these categories. Voting for these nominees will be open to the public through the MWCD’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ministryWCD/app/892345240838861/) from 8.30 am on 3rdDecember 2015 till 11:59 pm on 20th December, 2015.

Everyone should make use of this wonderful opportunity to participate and vote for their favourite woman achiever in each of the 20 categories. Indians across the world are inspired by positive and inspirational stories and ‘like’ and ‘share’ them widely. #100women is a chance to go beyond this and vote for unsung women achievers of India to thank them and tell them they matter to the nation.

The winners are expected to be invited to join a reception by the Ministry of Women and Child Development around the coming Republic Day.
