Veteran BJP Leader Kailashpati Mishra dies at 89

TNI Bureau: Veteran BJP leader and former Gujarat Governor Kailashpati Mihsra, who was regarded as the ‘Bhisma Pitamah’ of the party, died at the age of 89 today. He breathed his last in Patna. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi paid homage to him at his residence.

The 89-year-old Kailashpati Mishra was suffering from several ailments for a long time. He was a bachelor and had dedicated his life to social work and politics. Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will visit Patna tomorrow to pay his last respect to the departed soul.

Many senior BJP leaders, including LK Advani, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj may also attend his funeral tomorrow. The Bihar Government has announced a one-day state mourning in respect of the departing leader.
