TNI Bureau: In a shocking incident, an unruly passenger created ruckus on IndiGo flight shouting Islamic slogans. The situation worsened when he threatened to harm the flight. Later, he was handed over to the security officials when the plane landed at the IGI airport on Wednesday.
The accused was identified as Mohammed Muslim Sheikh. He had boarded the IndiGo flight (6E196) from Mumbai. He was violent and assaulted a crew member after a woman passenger alleged that he was staring at her from window screen.
The cabin crew members and passengers succeeded to stop the accused from reaching the cockpit and the lives were saved. The aircraft landed at the airport in New Delhi safely.
Shaikh, a second-hand car dealer from Babu Tansen Chawl in Virar, was handed over to security agencies and the IGI domestic airport police arrested him immediately. A case was registered against him for criminal intimidation, assault and threatening the crew. He is being questioned by the Intelligence Bureau.
