Turkey, which has been backing the Syrian rebels ever since the civil war broke out in Syria, has shot down a Syrian Helicopter after it reportedly violated its airspace. The military chopper was attacked after it entered the Turkish airspace and ignored repeated warnings to leave, says Turkey.
According to Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister, Bulent Arinc said that the chopper strayed two kilometres into Turkish airspace, but crashed inside the Syrian territory after being hit by missiles.
One of the pilots was reportedly captured by the rebels, while fate of the other pilot is still not known.
