TNI Bureau: Tony Scott, a noted director of Hollywood films, died after jumping from a country bridge in Los Angeles in the US. He was 68. His death seems to be a case of suicide.
Scott is best known for his film ‘Top Gun’. However, he has several other films to his credit viz. Days Of Thunder, Beverley Hills Cop II, Man of Fire and Unstoppable among others. He was a director, producer, writer, cinematographer and actor in one line.
The British-born Scott was the younger brother of film-maker Ridley Scott.
A suicide note was reportedly found inside Scott’s car, a black Toyota Prius, which was found parked on an eastbound lane of the bridge.
Duncan Jones, director of Moon and Source Code Twitted: “Just heard about Tony Scott news. Horrible… Tony was a truly lovely man who took me under his wing & ignited my passion to make films.”
Besides films, Scott has also directed and produced a lot of TV series including ‘The Hunger’, ION, The sector and Emma’s war (announced) among others.
