SUN TV group is owned by the Maran family. The network was under the scanner in the 2G scam. The second highest bidder PVP Ventures had placed the bid for Rs 69.03 crore per year.

It would be interesting to see whether the SUN TV would prefer another city or keep Hyderabad as the home city. They can’t go for Chennai, as Chennai Super Kings are already operating from there.

The bids were invited for 12 cities — Ahmedabad, Cuttack, Dharamsala, Indore, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kochi, Nagpur, Noida, Rajkot, Ranchi and Visakhapatnam.
