TNI Bureau: A special monitoring cell has been set up in the Pachayatiraj department of Odisha to check the activities of the Block Development Officers (BDO) in their respective blocks of the state. The initiative was taken after Pachayatiraj SEcertary Aparajita Sarangi gave a strict instruction, which was implemented today.
After bringing reforms in the department of School and Mass education, now Aparajita is moving forward to execute the Pachayatiraj department in a proper manner. As per the directives by the authority, the BDOs of 314 Blocks of the state will be monitored by the 8-member team. They will keep a vigil on the BDOs that when they are coming to offices, where they are visiting, how long time they are taking to perform their duties on daily basis.
The Secretary had ordered for the initiatives on January 21 to bring reforms in the department for the year 2013-14. The 8-member team consists of Odisha Jeevan Jeebika Mission’s Ajit Kumar, Dhirendra Singh, the department’s administrative secretary Virendra Bitiria, Subash Chandra Mishra, Tangi-Khordha Block ABDO Nrushingha Prasad Mishra, Nabarangpur Block PA Maheswar Sethi, ASO Pratap Jena, and Gopabandhu Acharya. They have been instructed to watch the officials’ activities at least 30-45 Block offices from today.
