Congress President Sonia Gandhi broke her silence on the Italian marines issue and warned Italy saying no country should take India for granted. For the first time, Sonia took on the Italian government talking tough on the diplomatic row.
Her statement came a day after the apex court restrained Italian Ambassador Daniel Mancini from leaving India while hearing the case of Italian marines on Monday. The court said that a person, who comes to the court and gives an undertaking, has no immunity.
The apex court made it clear that Mancini would not be allowed to leave India till Rome sends back its two Italian marines Massimiliano Latorre and Salvatore Girone to face trial for killing two Indian fishermen.
The court adjourned the matter till April 2 saying the country has lost trust in the Italian ambassador.
