Shinde causes Uproar with ‘Hindu Terror’ Remark

Date:

TNI Bureau: The Congress Party has gone aggressive to isolate the BJP and woo the political parties over the issue of communalism vs secularism. That was evident when Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde created a massive uproar by accusing the BJP and RSS of indulging in terror activities.

While addressing the massive gathering at Congress’ Chintan Shivir in Jaipur, Shinde said that his Ministry has reports of terror camps within the BJP and RSS. He cited the Samjhauta Express blast and Mecca Masjid blasts and claimed that both BJP and RSS promote Hindu terrorism.

The BJP and RSS have slammed Shinde, terming the remarks as dangerous and divisive. The BJP has asked Shinde, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to apologise to the nation.

Congress leaders Mani Shankar Aiyar and Digvijaya Singh have supported Shinde, while Rajiv Shukla tried to downplay the outrage. Sushil Kumar Shinde has tried clarify saying he meant “saffron terrorism”, not Hindu terrorism, which has been reported by newspapers in the past, but the damage was already done.

The latest development is seen as a calculative task taken by the Congress to divide the political parties, playing the communal card. And, it wants to woo more allies ahead of 2014 polls. However, Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has lost the credibility by doing a flip-flop. People wonder why he is unable to take any action against the BJP and RSS if he has the proofs.
