Sheila admits Women don’t feel Safe in Delhi

TNI Bureau: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit created a flutter on Wednesday when she admitted in public that women in Delhi don’t feel safe. That showed the negativity and helplessness of a Chief Minister, who is there to ensure safety and security for the women.

“Women don’t feel safe in Delhi. There is an increase in fear. I’m shocked to learn about the Lajpat Nagar attempted rape case. It’s a big setback for us”, while referring to the Tuesday’s incident where a contractor tried to rape a Class IX student, but when she resisted, he thrust an iron rod into her throat. The victim is struggling for life.

Although the CM promised to provide full security to the women in Delhi, her comments created an outrage with women’s groups and political leaders raising their voice against the law and order situation in the national capital.
